Friday Freebie

Our sincere Congratulations goes out to Judy of The Simple Daze!
Judy is our lucky winner of last week's Friday Freebie and wil be receiving the charming Valentine Tucks from Homespun Annie!
This week's featured artisan is Nancy Huggins of Huggins Haven!
What is the name of your shop? And why did you choose this name?
Huggins Haven...Home of Country Crafts and Timeless Treasures. It is my last name and my husband suggested it; and I kind of liked it because it is easy to remember.
What type of items do you offer?
I offer everything from handmade soaps, to pincushions, handbags and a variety of one of a kind primitives.
How long have you been crafting?
Since I was 8 years old when we lived in the City. We would visit my grandmother in the country. I would go out and cut cat tails, take them home and paint them. I would then take and sell them door to door in the city.
Who or What inspires you?
Everything inspires me...I sometimes look at junk (Old..Rusty..Broken) and even if my husband sees a rock or a weird shaped branch and brings it to me, I will try and think of what I can make with it.
What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I guess I would have to say that I like my hand made soap the most. It is a lot of work to make but I am able to use a lot of my own ideas and creativity.
What else would like to our readers to know?
I love my pets and now have 2 Mixed Lab puppies that are 9 months old. They are a real challenge because they think everything in the house is something to play with and rip apart. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone tells me they will call back at a certain time on the phone or be at my house at a certain time and then they don't do it....I call that being blown off. I hate where I live and could write 3 pages of why, but I won't. I will just say I live in a Podunk town on a red dirt road, and there are no stores to buy supplies for my crafts within 90 miles one way!
And now for Nancy's Giveaway:
One lucky reader will receive a bar of Nancy's Orange Soap, a bar of her Prim soap, and some of her soap petals in scents of Baby Powder, Raspberry and Sweet pea!
Entry Guidelines:
Visit Nancy's Selling Blog, Huggins Haven, and come back here and leave a comment with your favorite item.

Friday Freebie

Congratulations to Joy of Vintage Verses!
Joy is our lucky winner of last week's Friday Freebie from Painted Panache and will receive the lovely hand-painted tea-bag holder!
This week it is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Annie, of Homespun Annie and Old Annie Primitives!

What is the name of your shop? And why did you choose this name?
My shop is called Homespun Annie. When my sister-in-law and I started selling crafts together back in the 80's, we called ourselves Homespun Treasures. Liked the "homespun" and just added my name to it!
What type of items do you offer?
I make mostly ornies and bowl fillers (or tucks, as I like to call them). My style is more of a rustic, country primitive. I also enjoy making gatherings and greeters using my tucks. And I've recently started making my three tiered pin keeps, as well as many one-of-a-kind pin keeps.
How long have you been crafting?
I've been crafting and sewing since I was a little girl, but started selling my goods when I became a SAHM 23 years ago.
Who or What inspires you?
At this point it has to be 23 years worth of trying so many different craft mediums and having SO many different supplies as a result. I'm at the point I'll see some of my craft supplies I've had for years, not knowing why I have them or what I want to do with them...and then finally seeing something totally new I can create using them.
What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
It would have to be my bumblebee tucks. These are the cutest little fellows, so fun to make and the finished product is so satisfying for me.
What else would you like our readers to know?
I have just started offering epatterns for almost all my tucks. Slowly adding new patterns almost daily. And soon will be adding epatterns for make-do's, bag greeters, and hangings.
You can find Annie through her Etsy Shoppe, homespunannie, as well as through her two online shoppes, Homespun Annie, and Old Annie Primitives. And for the latest crafting endeavors from this talented lady, be sure to check out Old Annie Primitives' blog!
And now for the Friday Freebie!
One lucky reader will win these adorable bowl fillers (Annie calls them "tucks") and just in time for Valentine's Day!

Visit Homespun Annie's shop on Etsy and come back here and leave a comment with your favorite item.

Friday Freebie for January 22nd

Welcome to another Friday Freebie!
It is with great pleasure this week that I introduce you to Joann Wheeler of Painted Panache!
1.What is the name of your shoppe and how did you choose this name?
My shop url is jywheeler.etsy.com however I call it Painted Panache by Joann Y Wheeler. It seemed an appropriate name because I am a painter and artist & in particular the porcelain adds a bit of Panache to any home. As an artist it seemed just natural to have my name be a part of it.
2.What types of items do you create?
I am a painter so all my items are hand-painted. I hand paint porcelain (china painting) and miniature art (ACEO's) in various art mediums. You can also find decorative painting on wood and glass in my shop.
3.How long have you been crafting?
My goodness. It's been a very long time. Over 20 years I am sure. Although I've always painted and drawn as far back as I can remember into childhood.
4.What is your favorite item in your shoppe? Why?
I don't have a particular favorite item. In general I love the porcelain art primarily because it's one of those things that can be handed down for generations. Each piece is painted numerous times as the colors are built up and fired in between in a kiln. This means the paints are fired into the glaze and are permanent and dishwasher safe.
5.Who or what inspires your creativity?
I'm inspired by God and His creation. I absolutely LOVE to paint flowers and religious art. 6.What else would you like our readers to know about you?
I am a retired mother of 2 grown children, grandmother of 1 and wife of 34 years to my high school sweetheart from Pasadena Maryland.
As a special treat to our readers, Joann has so graciously donated this lovely hand-painted china tea bag holder to one of our lucky readers:
Description:
Handpainted porcelain tea bag holder. Size 4". Porcelain itself is a leaf design with raised veins. Painted on the teabag holder is a single blue morning glory. This lovely piece can also be used for a spoon rest or rings holder. Very versatile. Dishwasher safe.
Entry Guidelines:
